End of current term of office – 31/12/24
I have been a Governor at Pocklington Junior School since July 2014. I was Chair of the Teaching and Learning Committee from January 2015 until July 2018 and hold the position of Chair of the Local Governing Board. Our overall role is to monitor the school development plan and the impact made on the children’s progress and attainment alongside the other Governors and to provide constructive criticism for continued improvement. I was a lecturer at the University of Hull from 1990 until my retirement in Autumn 2014. I was a registered nurse until July 2018 and now focus my attention on raising the awareness of Dementia in East Yorkshire through working locally with Dementia Friendly Market Weighton, volunteering at dementia friendly singing sessions and with Pocklington Rugby in the community. I am passionate about standards and education in general, hence the reason I thoroughly enjoy being a governor and am very proud to be associated with the Junior School.
