I live in Pocklington with my husband Richard and son Stephen.
In my role as Trust Governor at Pocklington Junior School I strive to be the best critical friend I can be whilst offering challenge to the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team. I have been a Governor at PJS for over 8 years and thoroughly enjoy being part of the local community supporting children to grow and develop into confident pupils. I have specific responsibility for Special Educational Needs and Pupil Premium across school – 2 areas I feel very passionately about.
Outside of my Governor role, I have two very different part-time roles within local schools; Teaching Assistant and Duke of Edinburgh Manager. Each day is different and full of learning which I draw upon in my Governor role.
My skill base is extremely varied, I started my career in a Typing Pool and over the years progressed to Personal Assistance supporting Managing Directors/Owners of companies large and small and in various different industries. I have trained as Company Facilitator and been a Team Member of a World-wide Project Team implementing new processes and procedures. I spend 13 years working from home as an Ofsted Registered Childminder before embarking on my two roles mentioned above.
